Rectory holds debate on Future-se

The rector of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), José Daniel Diniz Melo, participated, last week, in a meeting of the Full Council of the National Association of Directors of Federal Higher Education Institutions (Andifes), in Brasília, which for the third time debated the topic after the presentation of the project by the Ministry of Education (MEC), in July.
According to a note released by the Full Council of Andifes, it is "to be assumed that, until it is sent to the National Congress, the proposal will receive changes. In other words, there is no proposal on which to deliberate. As is our nature, Andifes will not shy away from debating and taking a clear position when a proposal is presented in the form of a bill for processing in the National Congress. Our entity will know how to reaffirm principles and values of the public university system, in addition to rescuing the set of studies carried out throughout its history to modernize management, expand and provide the best services to Brazilian society”.
At UFRN, as directed by the Rectory, debates are being held according to the schedule below. “It is necessary to reaffirm that any and all positions taken by UFRN will be taken by the University Council, after broad debate with the entire university community, always aiming at the interests of the University and university autonomy”, guaranteed rector Daniel Diniz.
