Rádio FM Universitária won two awards in the competition of the Federation of Commerce of Goods, Services and Tourism of the State of RN (Fecomércio), in the Radiojournalism and Student categories. The subjects that won the prize were Carnival on the Development Route and Flying High, in that order, winning, respectively, R$5,000 and R$3,000.
The article about carnival used information from the Commerce Research and Development Institute (IPDC), provided by Fecomércio, on public opinion regarding public safety and urban cleaning during the festivities. From this, journalists asked City Hall what could be done to improve the condition of these services. The authors are Glynner Brandão, Demóstenes Nogueira, Pedro Henrique Dias and Felipe Nunes.
The second article was dedicated to understanding how the mapping of air ticket prices in Natal contributed to reducing the price of aviation kerosene. Those responsible for this journalistic production were Felipe Salustrino and Maria Clara Pimentel.
Pedro Dias, a scholarship holder from Rádio Universitária, said that the award makes a difference in his career. “It makes it easier to enter the market, in addition to having an impact on society [with the material]”, he states.
Also a scholarship holder, Felipe Salustino celebrates seeing that his effort is duly recognized. According to him, the award encourages improving journalistic production, in addition to being special in his life.
