The Regional Psychology Council of Rio Grande do Norte (CRP-17/RN) publishes a book on the relationship between psychology and politics, entitled “Political Implications of Psychology”. The launch event will be held at an edition of Café Psi, at the CRP-17 headquarters, at 3 pm, on November 25th, with a conversation circle. Registration must be completed online via Google form.
The work has eight chapters and was organized by psychologists Anuska Alencar (from the Applied Psychology Service – SEPA/UFRN), Daniela Rodrigues and Bruno Pereira. Its digital version is now available for free download in PDF, from the CRV publisher's website. One of the book's chapters was written by UFRN professor emeritus Oswaldo Yamamoto, a big name in local and national psychology.
The book deals with important themes in the contemporary political scenario in Brazil, such as the June 2013 days and the impeachment of Dilma Rousseff in 2016. “The book brings together several authors who discuss psychology as a space, in addition to being clinical, as well as political”, highlights Anuska Alencar.
In a text inserted at the front of the book, written by Bruno Pereira, it is highlighted that the organizers hope that the title “can be a tool to assist professional and personal practice in the different contexts in which we are inserted”. The promotion of the work was the responsibility of the Federal Psychology Council (CFP).
