The extension project “Masking in Urban Spaces” at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) resumes its activities in 2024 from April 9th. Coordinated by professors Melissa Lopes and Ana Caldas Lewinsohn, the group will meet weekly on Tuesdays, from 2:30 pm to 5 pm, in Room E of the Arts Department annex building.
The initiative aims to explore theatrical practices both on and off campus, focusing on the use of masks, urban spaces and popular culture. Through poetic experiments that dialogue with the city of Natal, the project seeks to investigate ways of transforming the urban landscape and everyday life. Open to the community internal and external to UFRN, the project will offer workshops, lectures and interdisciplinary interventions.
