Decom's Comtrilhas Project records Trilhas Potiguares actions

The Comtrilhas project, from the Department of Communication (Decom), at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), will monitor the activities of the Trilhas Potiguares 2019 program and, once again, publicize the Program's activities. A team of 68 Communication students, from the Journalism, Audiovisual and Advertising courses, will be divided between the participating municipalities, with a view to producing multimedia journalistic content, photos and video documentation. Of this total, 42 will act as correspondents based in the municipalities, 24 as advisors and two more students on an itinerant basis, monitoring the general coordination of the Program in almost all municipalities.
Comtrilhas is an extension project linked to the research group Epistemologies and Emerging and Transformative Practices in Communication, Media and Culture (Ecomsul) and the Department of Social Communication at UFRN, and since 2009 it has partnered with the Trilhas Potiguares program. According to the coordinator, professor Itamar Nobre, the project represents an opportunity for students to interact with an audience that will have, in a professional future, a reception relationship in the field of Social Communication. “It is a laboratory for practical activities, for applying the theories learned and techniques learned in the classroom, relating in a multi, inter and transdisciplinary way with students and teachers from other courses”, he highlights.
The material produced by the Comtrilhas team will be disseminated via the internet and in local media outlets, and aims to offer workshops, mini-courses and lectures related to the area of social communication, in addition to promoting the interaction of Communication students with other projects, in the context of multidisciplinarity.
