Inspired by the social action promoted by UFPE university student Manu Marinho who decided to place sanitary pads in the university bathrooms so that other women could use them if they needed to. Professor Izabel Nascimento from the Department of Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures at the Center for Human Sciences, Letters and Arts, carried out this campaign on the morning of this Monday, 11th, in two women's bathrooms at CCHLA.
With the motto: "Take one if you need it. Leave one if you have it left" the proposal is for people to participate in the solidarity action by replacing the pads they take and implementing them in the center's other bathrooms.
Students Mara Cristiane from the French Literature course and Thaline Raiane from the History course at UFRN commented that they found the campaign interesting and wonderful, as they had already experienced cases in which they needed a sanitary pad and did not have quick access within the university to buy one. They believe that many other girls have already gone through this and that now with this initiative it will be much easier to avoid these unforeseen events.
The students joined the campaign and have already left sanitary pads to replenish the stock. They hope that the other students will participate and continue the social project.
