UFRN professor is appointed to the National Education Council

Professor Lindijane Almeida, director of the Institute of Public Policies (IPP) at UFRN, was nominated by institutions in the Public Field to join the National Education Council (CNE), a body within the Ministry of Education (MEC) that works in the formulation and evaluation of national education policy.
The CNE's main responsibilities are: formulating and evaluating national education policy, ensuring the quality of teaching, ensuring compliance with educational legislation and ensuring society's participation in improving Brazilian education.
The Council also works to seek mechanisms and alternatives that ensure society's participation in the development, improvement and consolidation of quality national education.
With the possible appointment, Lindijane plans to strengthen the CNE even further. "I was happy with the nomination of my name by Public Field Institutions. In a way, it represents trust and support for the work I am developing in favor of public administration and management in Brazil."
The professor also comments on the importance of her appointment: “UFRN can be sure that one of the results of this participation will be to contribute to the academic community for the consolidation of current courses and the emergence of new courses and actions”.
Lindijane was nominated by entities related to the Public Field and had her name published in the Official Gazette of the Union on September 23, 2022, by Ordinance No. 695. The publication listed the names to be considered for choosing and appointing members of the Chamber of Basic Education and the Chamber of Higher Education, of the CNE.
