The course (Dis)courtesy in focus, promoted by the Literature department of CCHLA, at UFRN, provides students of the undergraduate course in Literature and the Program in Language Studies, as well as external audiences, such as teachers, researchers and students in the language area, to study the notions of courtesy and discourtesy and the main theoretical currents that address the subject.
Taught by Prof. Dr. Luiz Antônio da Silva from USP, the course will be held until today, the 10th, starting at 2pm, in Auditorium ‘D’ at CCHLA.
The Prof. Dr. Luiz Antônio da Silva has a degree in Literature from the University of São Paulo (1975), a master's degree in Philology and Portuguese Language from the University of São Paulo (1990) and a PhD in Literature from the University of São Paulo (1997). He is currently an assistant professor at the University of São Paulo. He has experience in the area of Literature, with an emphasis on Conversation Analysis, working mainly on the following topics: interaction, conversation, speech, face preservation and courtesy.
