USP professor participates in Communication Seminar

   The Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) is holding the second edition of the General Seminar on Academic Cooperation in Postgraduate Studies in Communication. This year, the theme will be Communication and mediations in regional contexts. The event is a partnership between the Postgraduate Program in Media Studies (PPGEM) at UFRN and the Postgraduate Program in Communication Sciences (PPGCOM) at the University of São Paulo (USP) and the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS).
   The event is open to the entire academic community and will have an opening conference given by professor Maria Immacolata Vassallo de Lopes (USP), with the theme of Cartography for Communication Research and Local Mediations. The seminar's round tables will be held from April 15th to 17th, in Auditorium I of the Communication Department (Decom), from 9am to 6pm. Registration can be done through this link.
   The proposal is to analyze the media in regional contexts, seeking, in this way, to promote respect and appreciation of the discussion about social productions. The objective is to highlight the dimensions of media use, its dynamics and configurations in local cultures, mediated by media products and their languages ​​in the face of the hegemonic demands of globalization.
