The IV International Symposium on Functional Linguistics, to be held from May 31 to June 2, 2017, at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, aims to bring together undergraduates, postgraduates and researchers from Brazilian universities and abroad who are dedicated to linguistic studies, based on functionalist theoretical aspects and their interfaces.
Providing a space for the dissemination of research and, mainly, for reflection and joint discussion on different objects of investigation, the event will feature the presence of three major international lecturers: Carlos Gouveia (University of Lisbon, Portugal), Gabriele Diewald (University of Graz, Austria) and Kees Hengeveld (University of Amsterdam, Germany).
In addition to these three guests, some of the main functionalist and/or cognitivist researchers in Brazil have also confirmed their presence, among them, Erotilde Pezatti (UNESP/SJRP), Maria Helena de Moura Neves (UNESP/Araraquara), Maria Maura Cezario (UFRJ), Maria Medianeira de Souza (UFPE), Mariangela Rios de Oliveira (UFF), Roberto Gomes Camacho (UNESP/SJRP) and Sebastião Carlos Leite Gonçalves (UNESP).
Registration for participation in the IV SILF, in all forms, must be made via the official event email (silfufrn@gmail.com). Each participant must send, in a single email, the completed registration form, proof of payment and proof of enrollment in an educational institution (if they are a student).
The registered participant will be able to submit only one work, in the Oral Communication in Thematic Symposium modality or in the Poster modality. The deadline for submitting abstracts for both modalities is 04/07/2017.
Only stricto sensu professors, researchers and postgraduate students will be able to present work in the event's thematic symposiums. To download the registration form visit: https://ivsilf.wordpress.com
