The Postgraduate Program in Media Studies (PPgEM), linked to the Center for Human Sciences, Letters and Arts (CCHLA) at UFRN, has open registration for the selection process, with 13 places for a master's degree and 12 places for a doctorate, with admission in the first semester of 2023. Registration, carried out exclusively online, must be made by September 2nd, via Sigaa.
The Program, which has the lines of research Media Studies and Social Practices and Media Studies and Meaning Production, aims to develop academic study and research activities through its area of concentration, media communication in the context of its social practices and in the sphere of its meaning production.
For the master's degree, it is necessary to pay R$50, while the registration fee for the doctorate is R$70. Candidates registered in the Single Registry (CadÚnico) are entitled to exemption from paying for registration in the selection process, and must include proof of CadÚnico, issued by the Consulta Cidadão portal, on the form.
The selection process has five stages: approval of registrations; analysis of research projects; defense of the candidate's research project and production; evaluation of academic and professional production and hetero-identification procedure, which consists of the identification by third parties of the self-declared condition of candidates competing for vacancies destined for black people (black or brown), indigenous people and quilombolas.
All stages will be published in the candidate's area, on the Selection Process website, or on the Program page. The publication of the final result of the process is scheduled for December 12th. Further information is available in notices No. 02/2022, for doctorates, and No. 03/2022, for masters.
