PET GEO prepares Basic Guide for Geoprocessing in QGIS

The Tutorial Education Program – PET Geography UFRN developed a guide on the Geographic Information System (GIS) with the aim of sharing important information for the public that uses the tool, instructing on the preparation of a basic location map using QGIS Software.
The guide guides some basic steps of Geoprocessing and handling of this specific program, which can also be used for other applications. Among the available software, QGIS becomes an option for working with data, allowing the user to create maps with several layers, using different map projections, and composing maps from raster and/or vector layers. Therefore, the system enables the processing of remote sensing images, production of thematic maps (geological, pedological, vegetation, climate, etc.), cadastral maps (political, properties, etc.) and numerical terrain models.
