Research on monitoring arboviruses in Parnamirim wins national Health Surveillance award

Researched by the UFRN Public Policy Management Course, Kleyton Araújo Felipe was awarded the best experience in Health Surveillance in Brazil, at the National Congress of Municipal Secretariats in Campo Grande/MS.
There were more than 3 thousand projects registered, of which 336 were approved for presentation in Congress. The project developed to monitor arboviruses in the city of Parnamirim was among the winners of the Aqui tem SUS Exhibition, in the Health Surveillance in the Municipality category, during the Congress held last July.
"Monitoring is one of the topics extensively worked on and taught in the Public Policy Management course at UFRN, in which we set up the knowledge base to apply to this project in the city of Parnamirim. And there, in Campo Grande, we presented the project to the Ministry of Health, health councils and technicians in the area of health management from all over Brazil. And in the award ceremony we were awarded the best experience in Health Surveillance in Brazil", described the researcher.
According to him, “I am very grateful for everything I learned to be able to design this innovative work to monitor arboviruses”, he concluded.
