CCHLA, NAC and Instituto Ágora da UFRN open project selection process for panel painting

The Center for Human Sciences, Letters and Arts, through the Ágora Institute and the Art and Culture Center, through its Arts Atelier and the UFRN Culture Plan, launch this Notice, which makes public the procedures for the presentation of projects with the aim of promoting artistic-visual intervention on the building surface (Panel) at the Ágora Institute.
Through this Notice, the authors of selected projects duly executed within the established parameters will be awarded.
A proposta do projeto é compor a paisagem visual de parede específica do Instituto Ágora, de modo a incentivar e a valorizar a produção artística e a diversidade de linguagens, ao mesmo tempo em que busca uma reflexão crítica e visa contribuir para a produção de um espaço mais vivo para a comunidade universitária e a divulgação da arte e da cultura.
With this aim, this Notice intends to execute 03 (three) artistic painting projects with dimensions of 4.15 meters wide, 6.50 meters high and 26.87 square meters of surface, each.
Projects must be inspired by at least one of the following themes:
Brazilian miscegenation; Afro-Brazilian culture; Local culture; Social insertion; Secularity and religious tolerance; Democracy and freedom of expression; Preservation of the environment; Preservation of peace and security; and Plurilingualism.
Painters and/or visual artists over 18 years of age, who are interested in the topic and have the physical conditions to carry out the project presented, may participate in projects and participate in the selection.
Proposals may be registered individually or collectively.  Regarding collectives, they may have a maximum of 05 (five) participants.
The artist(s) authorize the right to use the image, as well as their work for the purposes of this Notice. The participation of members involved in organizing the process is prohibited.
Registration will be free and will be open from March 8th to 31st. Candidates must go to the Instituto Ágora Secretariat, located at CCHLA, Room 12, between 8am and 12pm and 2pm and 5pm, with the following documents:
a) Duly completed registration form.
b) Certificate of Authorship and Assignment of Image Use duly completed, signed and dated by the authors.
c) Individual CV of each author: identification, artistic training and activities developed.
d) Copy of each author’s identity card or corresponding official document, in addition to proof of residence.
e) Artistic-Visual Project containing: 1. Sketch; 2. Brief Descriptive Manual (title of the project, explanation of the work and techniques to be used).
The document listed in item “e” must be delivered in a sealed envelope without identification of the author(s), under the risk of disqualification. The envelope with the sketch will only be identified with the registration number. The contents (items “c” and “e”) must be arranged in A4 format, Times New Roman font, 12, with a maximum of 3,000 (three thousand) characters.
The Judging Committee will announce the selected projects on April 10th, through the NAC (www.nac.ufrn.br) and CCHLA (www.cchla.ufrn.br) websites.
A prize in the amount of R$ 1,000.00 (one thousand reais) will be paid for each project authorized by the Judging Committee and executed upon verification of what was established. After completion of execution, a single payment of the amount agreed above will be deposited into the account of the 1st (first) author or the individual author of each winning proposal, as indicated in the registration form and in accordance with institutional bureaucratic procedures.
The execution is scheduled to begin on April 17th and must be completed by April 28th, from Monday to Friday, respecting the following times: 7am to 11:30am and 1:30pm to 5:30pm.
Each panel can only be carried out by the author(s) of the winning proposals.  The artistic intervention must be carried out directly on the surface, taking into account its entire dimension, using the most varied painting techniques, including finishing to preserve the work. The selected and executed projects will be guaranteed on-site exposure for at least 02 (two) years.
The Center for Human Sciences, Letters and Arts and the Infrastructure Superintendency will make the following materials and equipment available:
a) Materials: Cans of spray paint, paint rollers, trays, extenders, latex paint in different colors, varnish to cover
