Instituto Ágora opens registrations for Portuguese Courses for Foreigners

The Ágora Institute of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) will open registrations for regular face-to-face courses in Portuguese for Foreigners from August 6th to 10th, 2024. Registration will take place from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, at the Institute's Secretariat, next to Class Section 2, on the Central Campus. The courses offered are:
– Portuguese 1: Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 2:55 pm to 4:35 pm (no prerequisite)
– Portuguese 2: Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 4:50 pm to 6:30 pm (requires placement test)
– Portuguese 3: Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 1:00 pm to 2:40 pm (requires placement test)
– Portuguese 4: Mondays and Wednesdays, from 2:55 pm to 4:35 pm (requires placement test)
The courses are aimed at international students and teachers at UFRN and foreigners from the external community with an appropriate visa, except tourists. Classes will start on August 12th and end on December 14th. The course fee is R$250.00 for the entire semester.
The placement test for levels 2, 3 and 4 will be held on July 30th, from 1pm to 5pm, in Auditoriums 3 and 4 of Instituto Ágora. To participate, send an email to ple.ufrn@gmail.com by 11pm on July 29th. The documents required for registration are:
– Original passport
– Copies of the passport photo and visa sheet
– CPF (original and copy)
– Copy of proof of residence (may be in the name of third parties)
The courses at Instituto Ágora, with more than 15 years of experience, aim to develop students' proficiency in reading, listening, written production and oral production, using a communicative and interactive approach. Classes also include aspects of Brazilian culture, such as national music and cinema, and each course covers 60 hours per semester. Declarations are issued at the end of each level at the student's request.
