In 2017, the degree in Journalism at UFRN leaves the condition of qualification in the field of Social Communication to acquire the autonomous form of course, as provided for in Consepe Resolution n. 211, of November 29, 2016.
In this context, the UFRN Social Communication department holds the 1st Week of the Journalism Course. The event, whose theme covers new formats and new languages in journalism, will include an opening conference with investigative journalist Leandro Fortes, and round tables, which will cover the central theme, as well as the challenges of the printed medium in the face of digital media, directions of counter-hegemonic communication, and the relationship between journalism and literature.
The program also includes documentary screenings, a photojournalism exhibition, video editing, photography and creative writing workshops; opportunities for students, and the launch of books – including the e-book “Journalists and writers from RN: interviews”, which brings together productions by UFRN Journalism students.
The meeting takes place from the 8th to the 12th of May, from 2pm, in the UFRN DECOM auditorium.
With the fundamental support of the CCHLA management and Decom leadership, the organization of the week aims to mobilize all teachers in the area, all students, Decom's technical-administrative staff, the Berilo Wanderley Academic Center, the research bases and the PPGEM – Postgraduate Program in Media Studies.
