I PESQUISACOM debates knowledge production during the pandemic

Between the 18th and 19th of June, the I Pesquisacom – Interprogram Seminar on Communication for the North and Northeast Regions will take place virtually, an event that will bring together teachers, students, researchers and professionals to discuss new directions in the area of Communication and the “new normal” in academic teaching.
The programming of the first edition of Pesquisacom will feature important names in national communication. On June 18th, at 9 am, Edson Dalmonte, representative of the Capes area, talks about teaching and research in Postgraduate Studies in Communication for the North and Northeast regions. On the 19th, at 9 am, Maurício Ribeiro, President of Compós, brings to the debate the importance of Postgraduate Studies in Communication for teaching and democracy. This edition had 55 registrations representing teachers from 11 federal institutions and the expectation is to have around 500 participants who will follow the discussions over the two days of the event. As this is the first edition, only research by teachers will be presented, but the intention is that in the next edition there will be the participation of research groups, research by students from state and private universities, in addition to other content proposals.
Due to the pandemic and social isolation that has been occurring in the country since March, the event, which is also free, will be completely virtual. "Despite this period of social instability with the pandemic and the need to maintain social distancing, we all also feel the desire for rapprochement and dialogue. In this way, we want to intensify activities that contribute to socialization, exchange of ideas and knowledge between postgraduate programs in Communication in the North and Northeast regions, involving teachers and students. The idea is for each teacher to succinctly present to teachers and students of the participating programs, in addition to society in general, their main research and results, their research group, lines of investigation and theoretical and methodological references with which he has been working”, comments professor Dr. Luciana Miranda, general coordinator of the event.
Registration for professors who will present their research is now closed, but listeners can register until the 19th at the link https://www.even3.com.br/pesquisacom/. Both exhibitors and listeners will receive event certificates.
PROGRAMMING: In addition to the opening lectures, there will be research presentation sessions on the two days of the event, in which each exhibitor will have up to 20 minutes to talk about their work. In total there are 6 working groups. They are: 1) Convergence, transmediation and multiplatform journalism (06/18 – morning); 2) Media narratives and audiovisual media (06/18 – afternoon); 3) Journalism, technology and media history (06/18 – afternoon); 4) Science, social movements and the environment (06/19 – morning); 5) Advertising, gender and culture (06/19 – afternoon); and 6) Communication, politics and community media (06/19 – afternoon).
