History discusses the invisibility of women artists

The History Department of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) will hold, on April 11th, the round table Three Women (in the world of art). The event is organized by professor Susana Domingos and takes place in auditorium 1 of Instituto Ágora, starting at 6:45 pm.
The event features the participation of two artists from Rio Grande do Norte, Geovana Grunauer and Estrela Santos and an Argentinean, Paula Pellejero. They will talk about issues linked to the Historical Invisibility of Women Artists and their works in the art world. Furthermore, they will talk about the stereotypical and reductive representations of women as objects of painting.
The artists will also comment on the proposals that each one offers, based on their own work, for revisiting this statute and these images. The round table is aimed mainly at students studying History and Visual Arts at UFRN, but anyone interested in the topic can participate.
