The Communication, Science and Environment Research Group (Preserva-Ação) linked to the Postgraduate Program in Media Studies (PPgEM) at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) and the Postgraduate Program in Communication, Culture and the Amazon (PPGCOM) at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) has just launched a large database on Brazilian agribusiness and its relationship with the media and national politics. The platform is now available and can be accessed via the link https://grupopreservacao.com.br.
The site brings together a vast collection of bills related to agribusiness, scientific productions and content on environmental and Amazonian topics. Navigation also allows you to find images, humorous content and videos about communication campaigns involving topics such as agribusiness, agriculture and public policies, in addition to more than 140 publications. Through the website it is also possible to access the social networks of the Preserva-ação research group, created in 2007, and learn about the scientific productions of its 28 members.
The project, which has support from CNPq, is coordinated by professor Luciana Miranda Costa, from the Department of Social Communication at UFRN, and aims to publicize research that investigates the production of meanings in everyday life based on media discourse, in the interrelationship between communication, science, public policies and the environment.
