The Visual Arts Course at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) is promoting an exhibition “Address, Memory and My Evolution”, in the Art Gallery of the Annex Building of the Department of Arts (Deart), organized by the Painting 2 discipline, under the guidance of professor Rafael Oliveira Fernandes.
The exhibition, which began on Monday, August 19th, will remain open to the public until Thursday, August 22nd, with visits from 8am to 6pm. On Tuesday, August 20th, from 2pm to 5pm, artists will be present to talk to the public and present their works in person.
In addition to the work carried out during classes, the exhibition includes works by students, which explore the theme “what makes you come home?” The concept of “home” was approached in a broad way, allowing different interpretations by the artists. Authorial works are accompanied by explanatory texts that detail the artists' motivation and intentions, as well as art criticism that facilitates understanding of the works for audiences of all ages.
The exhibition was designed with a focus on accessibility, offering resources such as tactile images, audio description of the works and conceptual texts, as well as versions of the texts in Braille and enlarged format. The works are also arranged to ensure the comfort of visitors in wheelchairs.
