UFRN event promotes reflection on history and space

Guided by reflection and construction of meanings, the IX Colloquium on History and Spaces, offered by the Postgraduate Program in History at UFRN (PPGH/UFRN), has registration open until November 1st. The event aims to discuss research developed by students and specialization teachers. The broadcast will take place between the 8th and 12th of November, via Google Meet and the PPGH YouTube channel.
The colloquium features, in round tables and symposiums, discussions of a historical, political and social nature. The first day of the event features the participation of Roberto Vecchi, professor at the University of Bologna, where he teaches Portuguese and Brazilian Literature, as well as History of Portuguese Culture. The days after the opening also bring together renowned professionals from UFRN and other states.
Among the topics of the round tables are Historiography, Teaching, Comics and History of Spaces; Historical cultures, memories and spatialities; and Between the regional and the national: knowledge, practices and spatial identities. Each meeting is organized by around two to five professors from the History Department at UFRN and partner universities.
The symposium covers themes focused on the study, research and debate of issues related to the cultural and political-social identity of the territories. Theory, Historiography and Teaching of the History of Spaces; Spaces, Historicity and Social Practices; and Brazil and the Americas: territorialization, politics, society and culture (16th-19th centuries) are some of the contents that are part of the programming of the 9th Colloquium on History and Spaces.
