School of Music hosts show about Feminine Archetypes

On May 13th, at 7pm, the School of Music (EMUFRN) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) hosts the show Anima Chico, about Brazilian female archetypes in the work of Chico Buarque de Hollanda. The musical presentation will be directed by EMUFRN's popular singing teacher, Pollyanna Guimarães.
The purpose of the show is to tell the story of these characters and encourage reflection on the behavioral patterns of Brazilian women in the face of oppressive male culture, based on the studies of psychiatrist Jean Shinoda Bolen on Greek myths and the female psyche, making reference to Jungian concepts such as archetype and the idea of the anima (feminine portion of man).
In addition to showing the diversity of female figures, the show also shows the richness of popular Brazilian music, guiding the listener on a tour through Brazilian rhythms and genres such as baião, samba, bossa, bolero and waltz, present in Chico's work.
