PPGFIL graduates are awarded the ANPOF 2022 Award

Graduates of the Postgraduate Program in Philosophy (PPGFIL), at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), Evelyn Fernandes Erickson and Roberta da Cunha Rodrigues were awarded the ANPOF 2022 Award, from the National Association of Postgraduate Studies in Philosophy. The award ceremony took place in Goiânia (GO), on October 14th, broadcast on YouTube.
In the Master's category, Roberta's dissertation “Feminism and capitalism: a necessary rupture“, supervised by professor Maria Cristina Longo Cardoso Dias, from UFES, was the winner. Already in her PhD, Evelyn won with the thesis “Rational theory revision in logic: beyond abductivism“, supervised by professors Daniel Durante Pereira Alves, from UFRN, and Ole Thomassen Hjortland, from the University of Bergen. Evelyn's work had already been awarded the CAPES Prize for theses last August.
According to the prof. Daniel Durante, the fact that Evelyn's thesis won these two awards was a very rare feat. “Actually, I don’t know if it has ever happened that the same thesis won both prizes”, reveals the professor. He further explains that another rare feat occurred due to Roberta's dissertation also winning, in the Master's category: the same Program won the two main awards, master's and doctorate.
The Anpof Prize work was coordinated by Prof. Dr. Eduardo Vicentini (UFSC). They involved the participation of dozens of teachers and evaluators linked to the most diverse PPGFs in the country throughout the three stages of selection.
