The Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) launches this Thursday, 23rd, the documentary commemorating the institution's 60th anniversary, with a video teaser during the inauguration of the new facilities of the Center for Art and Culture (NAC). The ceremony takes place at 5pm, in the ground floor annex of the Zila Mamede Central Library (BCZM). The video summarizes six decades of history in 38 minutes, based on testimonies from people who lived different phases and experiences at the university. Former deans, staff and students report important facts and share their impressions about UFRN, which concludes the commemorative actions for its sixty-year anniversary with material produced by filmmaker Fábio DeSilva. The documentary goes back to the creation of the university, in 1958, through memories of periods such as the military dictatorship, to the advances and contributions of UFRN in the production of technology and knowledge through teaching, research and extension, with emphasis on internalization, inclusion and support for culture and art.
