During the morning of June 23rd, the CCHLA management and department heads met to discuss proposals that would reduce the budget damage caused by the new budget matrix adopted at the last meeting.
According to some heads, their departments could lose more than 50% of the investment they currently receive from the center, according to the simulation carried out by the representative of the Dean of Planning and General Coordination of UFRN Jorge Dantas Melo.
Another question raised is that some of the evening courses offered by some departments did not count when carrying out the calculations to generate their budget value in the new matrix.
To resolve all the problems raised during the meeting, the center's management proposed that the current budget distribution model would continue based on the new matrix and the management would use the compensation fund, provided for in the matrix's resolution, to avoid investment losses from some of the departments.
Furthermore, the audit committee composed of the deputy director of CCHLA Sebastião Faustino and the deputy head of the Social Sciences department, professor Douglas Araújo, would be responsible for collecting all data from each department and correcting errors in these data in the new matrix.
Sebastião Faustino guaranteed that the commission would go to each department to analyze index by index to visualize the problems that need to be improved and corrected in each sector.
Another proposal raised is for each department to create its own internal committee to speed up the collection of this data and then discuss the results obtained with the audit committee.
Based on the proposals presented, the heads of the CCHLA departments voted in favor of this new budget model being applied this year. In total there were 6 votes in favor, 2 abstentions and 3 votes against.
