DesCom debate on indigenous literature and epistemologies

This Wednesday, the 6th, the research project Subaltern Epistemologies and Communication – desCom holds the last study meeting of the year to celebrate another period of research and reflection. With the theme Toré de knowledges: epistemologies and indigenous literatures, the action takes place at 9:30 am on the benches close to the Center for Applied Social Sciences (CCSA) building, on the way down from class sector 1.
At the meeting, undergraduate and postgraduate students from the Departments of Social Communication and Philosophy will reflect on orality, literature and the epistemology of dreams based on the works of Brazilian indigenous writers and thinkers. After the presentation, a discussion will be held based on the reflections presented.
The meeting is the university and external community. Those interested are recommended to read the text in advance, although it is not a mandatory condition for participating in the debate. And for those interested who want to sit on the floor, take sarongs or rugs. The project team will serve snacks for a get-together.
The project Subaltern Epistemologies and Communication – desCom, coordinated by professor Antonino Condorelli (DECOM/UFRN) with the participation of professor Rodrigo Almeida (DECOM/UFRN) and the collaboration of professors Raquel Diniz (PSIC/UFRN) and Federico Sanguinetti (DFIL/UFRN), aims to reflect on the decolonization of thought and communication practices, as well as the production of knowledge in the human and social sciences in general, through of the study, discussion and cartography of thoughts produced by subjects and social groups subordinated by the Eurocentric and colonial matrix of thought, imposed by the hegemonic version of Western modernity.
