The Department of Philosophy (DeFil), at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), has registrations open until March 6th for the course Reading group – Brazilian thinkers: Davi Kopenawa, “The fall of the sky”.
The extension project began on February 21st and runs until June 6th. The meetings take place on Thursdays, from 3pm to 5pm, with a duration of 40 hours, 18 of which are face-to-face and the rest correspond to seminar preparation activities. The course aims to discuss the work The Fall of the Sky, by Yanomami thinker Davi Kopenawa.
In addition to presenting Yanomami views on war, leadership, knowledge, organizational structures and relations with Western society, the book provides a diagnosis of our society and warns us against the consequences of our way of inhabiting the planet.
The idea of approaching the work also aims to promote the study and dissemination of the writings of Brazilian thinkers, in particular authors who do not belong to a European and Anglo-American tradition, still without much presence in philosophy curricula and little publicized in society.
