The Department of Philosophy (Defil) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) is promoting the 2024.2 edition of the interdisciplinary Study Group course “Pensadorxs Brasileirxs”. The activities begin this Monday, March 18th, with an exceptional presentation by Professor Alexandro de Jesus, in auditorium D of the CCHLA. The other course meetings, which total 20 face-to-face hours, will be held in the CCHLA C Auditorium, with the possibility of participation also via Google Meet. Registration is open through Sigaa.
The Study Group maintains its interdisciplinary approach, this time focusing on the issue of coloniality and the importance of effective de/post/counter-colonial projects. This semester, works by Alexandro de Jesus, Jota Mombaça and Eliane Potiguara will be discussed, with the aim of promoting the study and dissemination of the thoughts of Brazilian authors with a counter-hegemonic orientation.
This is the 10th edition of the course, which has already included the thoughts of several authors, such as Davi Kopenawa, Ailton Krenak, Lélia González, Heleieth Saffioti, Berenice Bento, Letícia Nascimento, Guacira Lopes Louro, Abdias Nascimento, Beatriz Nascimento, Daniel Munduruku, Graça Graúna, Luisa Marilac, Sara Wagner York, Jaqueline Gomes de Jesus, Mãe Stella de Oxossi, Sidnei Nogueira and Luiz Rufino.
The group's objective is to deepen the interpretation of Brazilian reality offered by the authors, following their political-social struggles, conceptual elaborations and theoretical proposals, focusing on the violence of coloniality and its persistence in the contemporary scenario, in addition to analyzing resistance strategies that favor the construction of alternative future possibilities.
