GENERAL REGULATIONS OF THE CONSULTATION PROCESS WITH THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY FOR THE ELECTION OF HEAD AND DEPUTY HEAD OF THE DESIGN DEPARTMENT (DDGN/CCHLA)
The Electoral Commission established by Ordinance No. 96 / 2021 – ADM/CCHLA, of April 20, 2021, makes public the rules for the direct and secret election for the position of HEAD AND VICE-HEAD OF THE DESIGN DEPARTMENT OF UFRN, with a mandate of 02 (two) years, under the terms of Art. 61 of the Statute of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, updated by Resolution no. 07/2002-CONSUNI, of August 16, 2002, and by Resolution no. 13/2008, CONSUNI, of December 1, 2008, according to the rules explained below:

Preliminary Provisions
CHAPTER I
General Process Definitions
Art. 1 The consultation process with the university community for the election of Head and Deputy Head of the Design Department (DDGN/CCHLA) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte/UFRN, is defined as a mechanism for the participation of all those who make up the Design Department, in the choice and appointment of their representatives.
Art. 2 The same principles that guide the entire structure and functioning of UFRN apply to this process of participation of segments of the university community, in the choice of their leaders, especially the principles:
I – Ethics, by which the nature and inalienable rights of agents of social and academic interactions are respected and valued in the institution;
II – Democratic participation in academic management and university administration, ensuring equal opportunities and equal treatment for all;
III – Social democracy, with the exercise of justice, equity and respect for the human person;
IV – The public spirit, the transparency of actions and the collective and solidary attribution of the socialization of responsibilities and results.

Organization and Functioning of the Process

From the Electoral Commission
Art. 3 The consultation process will be structured through an electoral commission composed of 2 (two) teachers and 1 (one) student, responsible for organizing, overseeing and supervising, operationalizing and monitoring the aforementioned process, in all its stages.
Art. 4 In addition to the attribution contained in the caput of the previous article, the electoral commission is responsible for:
I – Operationalize and coordinate the consultation process;
II – Discipline the consultation campaign, ensuring compliance with standards;
III – Receive, in a location to be defined, the registration of candidates’ plates;
IV – Approve the registrations of the slates and publish the lists of participants;
V – Provide publicity for candidates eligible to compete;
VI – Forward the competing lists and candidate data to the UFRN IT Superintendence;
VII – Provide resources and means for developing the process;
VIII – Publish the results of the consultation and forward it to the Design Department for process instruction;
IX – Consider and deliberate on omitted cases.
CHAPTER II
How the Process Works
Section I
Applications
Art. 5 In accordance with Article 50 and Paragraph 1 of the UFRN General Regulations, teachers working in the aforementioned Department and in full exercise of their activities, on an exclusive dedication basis or 40 (forty) hours of work per week, may apply for the position of Head and Vice-Head of the Design Department.
Sole paragraph: substitute or visiting professors, as well as those on leave or at the disposal of other bodies outside UFRN, will not be able to apply for the positions referred to in the caput of this article.
Art. 6 Registration will be open from 9 am on April 23, 2021 until 5:30 pm on April 25, 2021, through a specific application (Annex II) submitted to the email of the Design/DDGN/CCHLA secretariat
§ 1 Each candidate may register for only one ticket;
§ 2º The plate number will follow the registration order.
§ 3 Registrations may be made within the deadline described in the Election Calendar, attached to this regulation (Annex I).
§ 4 The Electoral Commission will have a period of up to 24 hours after the closing of registrations to assess and publish their results.
Section II
Of the Voters
Art. 7 All employees working in the Design Department (DDGN/CCHLA) are entitled to vote, in enjoyment of their functional rights.
