The Department of Social Communication (Decom), at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), is holding a round table to launch the fourth edition of Revista Tabu at 5pm, June 18th, in Auditorium 1 of Decom. The round table will feature external guests who will address topics in the edition's reports in the areas of culture, environment, periphery and human rights. The debate aims to attract both Decom students and other courses, as well as people from the community interested in the Magazine's proposal.
The Tabu Magazine is a laboratory publication developed every six months by students of the curricular component Planning and Research in Journalism Laboratory, of the Journalism course at UFRN, under the supervision of professor Janaína Dias Barcelos. As an editorial principle, the publication seeks to fight for the expansion of voices from historically silenced social classes and is willing to offer greater openness to debates that deviate from the conventional approach of traditional information vehicles.
The edition that will be launched brings approaches to the revitalization of the historic center of Natal, environmental activism, the reality of homeless people and the importance of human rights in citizens' lives. For more information, click on the link.
