The Mostra Monstra extension project, from the Department of Social Communication (Decom), promotes the course “VFX: The history, evolution and future of the cinema industry”, which will be held from 3pm to 6pm, on September 30th, October 7th, 14th and 21st. The event takes place in Auditorium 2 at Decom. Registration is available on Sigaa.
The course will be taught by UFRN Audiovisual graduate, Anthony Silva. The main purpose of the edition is to introduce participants to the area of Visual Effects, going through points that have marked the history and evolution of the medium in recent decades. In addition, topics such as the future of digital creation will be addressed by highlighting the emergence of new technologies.

October 14, 2022: THE PROCESS OF CREATING VISUAL EFFECTS
– Pipelines, professionals involved and the influence of deadlines on the final result (3h);
October 21, 2022: BALANCING THE REAL AND THE IMAGINARY: THE FUTURE OF THE INDUSTRY
– What makes an image real, Uncanny Valley and the limits of digital creation. The use of Artificial Intelligence, Deepfakes and Virtual Reality (3h).
