The Department of Social Communication (Decom), linked to the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), promotes an exhibition with the aim of showing short films, essays and films developed by undergraduates belonging to the Audiovisual course producers. Entitled the 1st Audiovisual Production Exhibition, the event takes place on Wednesday, July 20th, in auditoriums 1 and 2 of the Department, scheduled to start at 3pm. The exhibition is open to both internal and external audiences, especially to those interested in working in these areas. Interested parties can register, free of charge, by accessing the link on Sigaa.
The event's primary objective is to encourage the productions of first-year students, who entered the University after the Covid-19 pandemic. The students are part of the TV 1 curricular component, taught by professor Maria Ângela Pavan, who came together during the semester to develop their work.
Professor and coordinator of the Audiovisual course Rodrigo Almeida states that it is always very important, not only for the course but for the students, the existence of these events that present results of what was produced within the discipline. For him, exhibitions and even shows held outside the university allow society to know, in some way, all the work developed by students in the audiovisual area.
"It is extremely important that events of this type take place from the beginning of the course, as is the case with this exhibition. All of this is a way of encouraging students to present their productions and, in this way, helping to alleviate their shyness in showing what is being created by them. The systematic exhibitions promoted within the course contribute to graduates' better understanding of the audiovisual circuit in all logistical aspects of academic training, including the actual production of works, reaching the distribution and exhibition of results, with debates and dialogues”, points out Rodrigo Almeida.
The sound director of one of the course's producers, Rabicó Produções, and also an Audiovisual student, Breno Vieira, states that, for many of his classmates, this show is their first experience with the area. Still from his perspective, this process becomes a challenge for students, since productions take place in the initial phase of the course, that is, in the first period. Furthermore, the student clarifies that the event favors an exchange of experiences, since at the same time as there are people who have no experience, there are those who are already part of large projects.
