The Department of Communication (Decom), at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), receives the Teia-Brasil Session project this Friday, August 2nd. The film to be shown is Amores de Chumbo (2017), followed by a chat with the presence of Pernambuco director Tuca Siqueira and mediation by Maria Angela Pavan and Janaine Aires. The event takes place at 7pm, in Auditorium 1, at Decom, with free entry. Attendance can be confirmed via this link.
The film tells the story of a love triangle that revives the political and social history of the era of the military dictatorship in Brazil, questioning the limits of each character in the face of secrets and interrupted passions.
In her 15-year career, director and screenwriter Tuca Siqueira has accumulated three documentary series, eight short films and two feature films. In Amores de Chumbo, his first fiction feature, Tuca addresses the reunion of Maria Eugênia, a writer from Pernambuco based in France, with the former political prisoner Miguel and his partner Lúcia, who have just celebrated a four-decade union. The reunion raises long-held doubts and suspicions, which recall stories lived during the leaden years.
In addition to the screening at UFRN, the film will be presented on Thursday, 1st, at 7pm, at Viramundo Potiguar, a cultural space located in Passo da Pátria, and on Saturday, August 3rd, also at 7pm, in partnership with Cineclube Natal, at Una Casa, located in Ponta Negra.
