The Department of Social Communication (Decom) and the Interdisciplinary Center for Studies in Sexual Diversity, Gender and Human Rights (Tirésias), of the Postgraduate Program in Social Anthropology (PPGAS), at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), are holding two round tables on female participation in the public sphere.
The Decom event takes place this Thursday, March 14th, in two moments, from 1pm to 3pm and from 7pm to 10pm, in the Decom auditorium. The tables are attended by anthropologists, journalists and researchers. The complete schedule is available at the link.
The table proposed by Tirésias will take place next Thursday, March 21st, from 6:30 pm, in the auditorium of the Zila Mamede Central Library (BCZM). The event will be attended by Divaneide Basílio (sociologist and councilor of the city of Natal), Karla Kosta (pedagogue and public manager) and Rolfran Ubuntu (social scientist and master's student in Social Anthropology). The purpose of the round tables is to reflect, on the eve of one year since her murder, on the social struggles that permeated the entire career and political activism of councilor Marielle Franco.
