Next Tuesday, the 26th, Instituto Ágora will hold the opening lecture of the Supplementary Teaching Project Course “Production of slides for presentation of seminars and communications at conferences”, given by professor Sylvia Abbot, starting at 3pm, in the institute building.
The course is open to all UFRN students, with limited places. Registration can be done here. The project coordinator, professor Izabel Nascimento, from the Department of Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures (DLLEM) highlights that the course was designed to solve the famous “blank” problem when presenting academic work.
"We will teach how to organize slides, place appropriate photos and colors, proportions of letters and fonts, adjust the images to the themes and above all, organize a presentation sequence that is consistent with the academic-scientific genre. It is a course that every student from the first period to the doctorate should take at some point in their life. We often study a lot, but leave the presentation with the feeling that we did not do a good oral job. The oral genre is largely forgotten in academic environments, but it is orally that we communicate most in the pragmatics of school life", he highlighted Professor Izabel.
The course will feature five meetings on September 26th, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st in person at the Instituto Ágora laboratory
