Professors from the Department of Politics are working to coordinate projects and publications of studies during the Covid-19 pandemic period. The actions involve the participation of undergraduate and postgraduate students and researchers.
Professors Winifred Knox and Joana Moura coordinate the “Cadernos Ateliê” project, with teaching and extension actions, which during this pandemic period has worked with the community of Vila de Ponta Negra in support of local associations and movements with the distribution of protection kits, cleaning, basic food baskets, among other actions.
In the fight against Covid-19 in the prison system, professor Claudio Roberto de Jesus, coordinates the Motyrum Penitentiary action, with the collection of personal hygiene and protection materials that are distributed to prison units.
“Sustainability in times of pandemic” is a research topic that has been coordinated by professor José Gomes Ferreira and postgraduate students. “Based on this problematization, we analyze the exposure of vulnerable communities and social groups to the virus, as well as the social and economic impact, also discussing the contribution to the environment and the opportunities for change in public policy and citizens' practices, to this end, bringing to debate the most recent articles and chapters published internationally”, highlights the professor.
In the area of publishing articles related to Covid-19, within the scope of Public Management, there are important collaborations by teachers: Lindijane Almeida, Maria Clementino, Sara Medeiros, Sandra Gomes and Raquel Silveira, which can be accessed at the link:
