Lecture summary:
The purpose of this conference is to discuss Brazil's independence process through notes on its history, historiography and memory, highlighting its dimensions of continuity and rupture, its short and long-term results, and its political appropriations that, two hundred years later, make it a topic of great relevance in Brazil.
