CCHLA installs the Public Policy Institute

In an administrative meeting on the morning of this Thursday, 18th, at the Directorate of the Center for Human Sciences, Letters and Arts of UFRN (CCHLA), the installation of the Institute of Public Policies (IPP) was carried out, a specialized academic unit based on the merger of the Department of Public Policies (DPP) with the Advanced Center for Public Policies (NAPP) and the Urban and Regional Planning Laboratory (Labplan).
 
The IPP will have Professor Lindijane Almeira as its first director and its vice-director, Professor Alexsandro Ferreira Cardoso. The new unit linked to CCHLA already has an undergraduate course in Public Policy Management and the Postgraduate Program in Urban and Regional Studies (PPEUR), consisting of master's and doctorate degrees and aims to carry out new activities, such as offering sequential courses and implementing residency and specialization in the area of ​​public policies, in addition to projects with various bodies in society.
 
The director of CCHLA, professor Maria das Graças Rodrigues, highlighted the importance of creating the new unit, "IPP is an institute that is already very large and strong, due to all the work that has been developed by the team. Becoming an academic unit is a great recognition from UFRN and will enhance the activities and partnerships that are already developed".
 
Professor Lindijane Almeida highlighted the history of the trajectory that began since 2004 in the area of ​​public policies at UFRN "we have seen growth with the teaching, research and extension activities that we carried out in isolation and now with the creation of the Institute we will work with the institutions jointly to offer new projects. We appreciate all the support from the management of UFRN and CCHLA who supported us in this fight, we will continue with a lot of work and happy to follow our plan", highlighted the director.
 
Professors Maria das Graças Rodrigues and Josenildo Bezerra, director and deputy of CCHLA, professors Lindijane Almeida and Alexsandro Cardoso, director and deputy of IPP, and professor Anderson Christopher, coordinator of the Public Policy Management Course, participated in the installation of the IPP.
