Philosopher Jorge Luís Borges crossed from matter to the unknown thirty years ago. Despite the time being considerable, his memory continues to be worshiped in different environments around the world.
The largest number of events take place at universities and our UFRN is not far behind. The Metaphysics and Tradition Study Group, from the philosophy department, is already part of the list of organizers of events around Borges and arrives with the “Borges, philosopher” journey, its third initiative.
This year, the 30th anniversary of the author's death is receiving testimonies this Monday, the 30th, and Tuesday, the 31st, from UFRN professors such as Sandra Erickson, who spoke at the opening about “The Hunger Games: Borges' library and labyrinths”; Monalisa Macedo on “The ‘doctor chaos’ in some considerations on Borges’ Atlas”; Oscar Federico was from “Borges the Unnamed”; Edrisi Fernandes addressed “The non-religious theism of Jorge Luis Borges”, with doctor Ilza Matias de Sousa closing the night with “Borges and Spinoza: the philosopher, the sorcerer and the invention of God”.
The day continues this Tuesday, 31st, with a film screening and lectures, from 5 pm to 9 pm, in the auditorium of the CCHLA building.
Registration on Sigaa.
