From December 5th to 7th, at UFRN, the National Meeting of studies on Roland Barthes will be held. The Barthes Meeting: solar essays is the result of the activities of the CNPq research group “Ecritor Plural: pluridisciplinary studies of the work of Roland Barthes” and has the dual function of bringing together researchers, whether or not involved with this group, to survey studies regarding Barthes' ideas in Rio Grande do Norte or studies that use these ideas to deal with different themes, in addition to, with this meeting, preparing an international meeting that should take place in Natal, also on Barthes, in 2019.
The importance of this author's ideas is unquestionable in various sectors of contemporary academic studies and, in many aspects, they go beyond academia to practical applications, especially in the field of arts and communication.
The meeting will bring together professors from UFRN and IFRN, as well as participation from professors from other Brazilian HEIs, such as USP, UnB and UEL.
