Visual artist and professor at UFRN will be honored with the highest honor from the São Paulo Fire Department

The visual artist and professor at the Department of Arts, Center for Human Sciences, Letters and Arts of (CCHLA/UFRN), Marcos Alberto Andruchak, will be awarded the “Commemorative Medal of the Centenary of the São Paulo Fire Department”, the institution's highest honor which is intended for people with relevant services provided to the Fire Department and society in São Paulo.
"This honor is probably being granted to us on account of the Arte Brasil Extension Project, from the UFRN Department of Arts, where we have been working on Art and Urban Design since 2009 and through which we have already produced more than 100 murals in Brazil and also abroad. In São Paulo, in 2016, we created a large mural at the Firefighters' Memory Center. Later, we carried out other works, one at the Central Command and another at ESB - Escola Superior de Firefighters, in addition to the monumental murals at USP, IFSP, the Military Police ROTA Command and UNITAU - University of Taubaté”, highlighted professor Andruchak.
The ceremony to hand over the Commemorative Medal was scheduled for this Wednesday, the 11th, however due to the recent natural disasters with the rains in São Paulo that killed several people, including two firefighters, a new date will be set.
Even so, the professor will be in the capital of São Paulo to give a lecture at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of São Paulo (IFSP), in partnership with art and design professionals from the Brazilian market, on “How does art relate to design, the creative industry and business?”, at the “Art, Design and Market” Colloquium, on Thursday, 12th, at the IFSP.
