On the 8th and 9th of December, the Arts Atelier of the UFRN Art and Culture Center will host the exhibition resulting from the Project “Fabião das Queimadas: memory in images”, an extension action that focused on the life and work of Fabião Hermenegildo Ferreira da Rocha, a singer and fiddle player from Rio Grande do Norte who, having been born a slave, and being illiterate, stood out in the world of singing and put his name among the prominent figures of popular culture.
A conversation circle will also take place in the exhibition space on Thursday the 8th, involving researchers and those interested in the topic.
The Project “Fabião das Queimadas: memory in images” was carried out through notice 002/2016 from PROEX – Memory, Museums, Documentation and Archives and is coordinated by professors Sara Medeiros and Fábio Fonseca, from the Department of Public Policies, from the Center for Human Sciences, Letters and Arts at UFRN.
The exhibition “Fabião das Queimadas: memory in images” takes place on December 8th and 9th, at the Arts Atelier of the UFRN Art and Culture Center.
