The UFRN Center for Human Sciences, Letters and Arts (CCHLA) will hold the 1st edition of “Dialogues at CCHLA” which will address the theme “Confronting sexual harassment and other gender-based violence” on September 5th, at 5:30 pm, in the auditorium of Instituto Ágora. The event aims to promote a space for dialogue on the topic, involving the entire CCHLA academic community, in order to encourage and strengthen spaces for welcoming victims and investigating complaints.
The event will have as a guest speaker the public prosecutor and professor at the Department of Law at UFRN, Érica Canuto, who has recognized her commitment to combating violence suffered by women. The meeting is open to all interested parties and does not require prior registration.
The event is the first edition of the Dialogues at CCHLA, which aims to promote periodic spaces for discussions and reflections on topics relevant to the center's daily life, involving its different units and academic centers.
About the speaker
Érica Canuto is a prosecutor, post-doctor in Democracy and Human Rights, Doctor in Social Sciences, Master in Law and Social Sciences, Professor of undergraduate and Master's in Law at UFRN, Coordinator of Namvid - Support Center for Women Victims of Domestic and Family Violence at MPRN, Coordinator of the Domestic Violence commission at IBDFAM/RN, author of books “Masculinity in the Dock”, “Principles of the Maria da Penha Law” and “Paradigms of Access to Comprehensive Justice for Women in Situations of Violence”
