EDUFRN launches book on research and criticism in visual arts

This Monday, the 11th, the book Research and criticism in visual arts: connections from Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba and Pernambuco was published by Editora da UFRN (Edufrn), organized by UFRN professor, Fabíola Alves. The publication brings together reflections on visual arts and multiple languages, focusing on the contexts of northeastern artistic productions and practices, addressing the specificities of the states of Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba and Pernambuco.
The work explores the cultural influences of the Northeast, the political dynamics and identity issues present in the region's artistic production, contributing to expanding the understanding of history and art criticism beyond the Rio-São Paulo axis.
Among the collaborators is Hélder Nóbrega, a doctoral candidate from the Postgraduate Program in Media Studies (PPgEM), who contributes with the chapter entitled The creative process of the show Eu, Falo Poesia. In this article, Nóbrega carries out a case study, through participatory research, on creative processes involving multiple artistic languages and their intersection with the plurality of media.
The publication celebrates ten years of the aforementioned show, and the author critically analyzes the creative process, highlighting the artistic experiences provided during the graduation of some artists involved, which enabled interdisciplinary interactions with the languages studied within the scope of Brazilian public universities, with a focus on northeastern cultural production.
