The Laboratory Gallery of the Department of Arts (Deart) at UFRN will host the exhibition “Arte Todo Dia, na Rua, na Escola” until October 28th. The event organized by Pibid students in Visual Arts (2022-2023) under the coordination of professor Laís Guaraldo, presents artistic propositions elaborated and applied throughout 2023 in four schools in the capital of Rio Grande do Norte.
The exhibition aims to draw attention to the urgency for schools to understand the contribution of the Arts areas in the training of students, to respect their subjectivities and fulfillment needs.
For the teacher and Project coordinator, Laís Guiraldo, the event aims to show the proposals formulated for the school space and the challenges mobilized there. "By ignoring the need for content that should be taught in art classes, the school fails to train future professionals in the areas of design, fashion, architecture, psychology, law, tourism, history, literature, communications... in addition, of course, to the areas of arts, which drive cultural and entertainment industries around the world and are, above all, spaces for cultivating psychic health. What conception of knowledge is this in force in the country's educational system, which dispenses with knowledge and sensitive expression? Art, for us, is should be treated as the matrix of all knowledge.”
