UFRN Dance Group presents “Zambê de Contra-ataque” at the Alberto Maranhão Theater

The Dance Group of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (GDUFRN) will perform, this Monday and Tuesday, November 25th and 26th, at 8pm, at the Alberto Maranhão Theater (TAM), the show “Zambê de Contra-ataque”. The choreographic production is led by artist Alexandre Américo, under the coordination of professor Teodora Alves, and carried out in partnership with Torta, an expanded art platform.
The performance is the result of an artistic residency on cultural manifestations of the land and proposes an immersion in a caiçara cosmology, exploring the gestures danced in the counter-colonial Zambês of the north coast of Rio Grande do Sul. Inspired by the book “The land gives, the land wants”, by Nêgo Bispo, the reflections on temporality by Leda Maria Martins and the work “Herdanças de Corpos Brincantes”, by Teodora Alves, the show also seeks to connect the ancestral rhythm and harmonize the asè in an environment marked by improvisation and the strength of the collective.
Tickets are available at the TAM box office.
