CCHLA announces initial literary analysis course

By Agecom/UFRN

The Center for Human Sciences, Letters and Arts at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (CCHLA/UFRN) announced an extension course focused on the theories and practices of literary analysis. The initiative is aimed at students and teachers of Literature, Arts and Communication, as well as those interested in literature and culture. The program will be held weekly, on Fridays, between September 4th and October 2nd, from 3pm to 5pm.

Taught by Andrey Pereira de Oliveira, professor of Literature Theory and Brazilian Literature, the course seeks to contribute to theoretical understanding and assist participants in the analysis of poetic texts. The expectation is to develop a theoretical perception of the poem's language, contributing to a more in-depth reading of literary texts.

The theoretical basis of the project is based on Russian Formalism and Czech Structuralism, based on the contributions of Viktor Shklovsky, Russian literary critic, writer and screenwriter; Jan Mukarovsky, Czech literary theorist, linguist and aesthete; and Roman Jakobson, Russian-American linguist and literary theorist.
