The meetings will take place on Fridays, from 10am to 12pm, at DEART/UFRN. The center is coordinated by Professor Roberta Maria Zambon Maziero and is co-coordinated by Professor Sebastião de Sales Silva. The group's activities and information will also be publicized through the Instagram profile @NEID.UFRN.

The Center for Interdisciplinary Dance Studies aims to promote theoretical and learning in-depth in the area of Dance through dialogue between this cultural and artistic manifestation and different fields of knowledge, such as sociology, anthropology, education, inclusion, gender identity, feminism, phenomenology and southern epistemologies.

The proposal seeks to bring together undergraduates and graduates in weekly meetings aimed at carrying out readings, reflections, academic and artistic productions, in addition to participation in scientific and cultural events that stimulate collective study experiences and shared productions based on the intersection between different areas of knowledge.

According to the organization, the center intends to align teaching and research through study, reflection and academic production, providing participants with experiences related to teaching techniques, synthesis of readings, establishment of relationships between studies and experiences and organization of ideas.

In the area of research, the initiative aims to provide opportunities for contact with research approaches and methods, scientific initiation and participation in presentations of scientific and cultural events.

The action also highlights the importance of integrating research, study and learning as a way of contributing to the strengthening of Dance in the social, cultural, educational fields and in the integral training of people.

Among the objectives of the center are the production of knowledge in the area of Dance aligned with interdisciplinary perspectives, the encouragement of academic production in Dance art, the valorization of Dance as a cultural and artistic manifestation and the promotion of reflections on the reality experienced by subjects in different social contexts.

The project also seeks to contribute to the construction of an inclusive society and education, in addition to offering systematized knowledge for both undergraduate and graduate students and teachers from other epistemological areas.

As expected results, NEID intends to strengthen the interdisciplinary development of Dance and expand knowledge and practices in the area in the academic, social, cultural and educational fields of communities.
