COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign

The vaccination against COVID-19 to Indigenous people from RN began on February 26th, 2021. According to the RN State Health Secretariat (SESAP), 2940 doses of Oxford/ Astrazeneca vaccine were made available to the districts of Assu, Apodi, Baía Formosa, Goianinha, João Câmara, Jardim de Angicos, Macaíba and Natal in order to immunize Indigenous from the ethnicities of Caboclos, Tapuia Paiaku, Potiguara do Catu, Potiguara do Sagi, Potiguara Mendonça e Tapuia Tarairiú. The strive to vaccinate the whole Indigenous population continues, including in this number Indigenous people living in Potiguar cities, such as the Warao.
